Guided walk: A Mile in the Middle Ages [Forres] ...

26 June 2023

Starts: 14:00
Ends: 17:00

A heritage walk with local historian Dr John Barrett.

A walk with local history expert Dr John Barrett will trace the origins and development of the Royal Burgh of Forres in the present-day townscape. The exploration will show how a medieval royal burgh was planned and how Forres occupies an important place in the history of Moray and Scotland. We will look at buildings and landscapes. We will find prehistoric and Pictish remains on the site of the medieval town. And we will find a place of power in the heart of Moray (not to mention Macbeth, witches and several ‘orrible murders).

Cost £12. Part of Moray Walking & Outdoor Festival. For futher details and bookings, see their website.
